ON RIVER POSITIONS:
Captains -
Qualified candidates will operate Transport Canada Inspected Passenger Vessels in the Niagara Gorge between one of our 3 Jet Boat departure points and the Whirlpool Rapids in a manner that ensures the safety and security of the Crew, enjoyment of our passengers, and respect for the environment. Our Captains have heavy public contact; therefore we are looking for individuals who can provide superb customer service.
Trip Leader -
Duties include safely guiding jet boat tours on the Niagara River, maintenance, repair and various on-shore duties. Boat staff must be personable, outgoing and well spoken. First Aid and CPR certifications are required. Fluency in other languages is also and asset. Training provided.
OFF RIVER POSITIONS:
Front Desk / Registration
Duties involve guest registration, handling cash and customer service requirements. Front Desk staff must be detail oriented and competent at data entry. Sales experience and fluency in other languages are assets.
Reservations Agent
Responsibilities include answering multiple phone lines, answering inquiries about the jet boat and hotel operations, data entry and customer service. Ideal candidates will have previous telephone sales and data entry experience. Related sales experience and fluency in other languages are assets.
Digital Media Agent
Staff will be using an extensive range of technical equipment, including Digital SLR cameras, lenses and photo-developing and video editing equipment. Will be trained on editing videos using templates in Final Cut Pro X. Timely development and display of printed and digital photos and videos are essential. Troubleshoot digital media hardware and software. Report any and all technical difficulties or malfunctions to a supervisor or manager. Develop expertise with photo/video hardware and software to produce high-quality digital media.
Retail Agent
Constant interaction with guests to recommend, select and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires. Open, close and balance cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money and organizing receipts. Cleaning of the retail shop and public washrooms. Monitoring sales display areas to ensure proper organization of the retail shop. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
Food & Beverage Staff
Responsibilities include but not limited to; serving food and drinks, setting up tables, removing used dishes, preparing simple dishes, operating a POS system and handling cash. Must be Smart Serve Certified.
Sales & Marketing Assistant -
Responsibilities include; communication and information exchange with local businesses, associations, clubs and partners, data entry, lead generation, monthly reporting, working with the Digital Media Dept. to collect photo and video content, assisting with the implementation of the social media marketing calendar and plan, attendance and marketing collateral distribution at local festivals and events as required. The ideal candidate will have related experience in social media, marketing, tourism and communications. Fluency in other languages considered an asset.
Housekeepers -
Duties include general but thorough cleaning duties as well as light maintenance duties, i.e. Changing light bulbs and laundry. Housekeepers must be efficient, meticulous and able to work with minimal supervision.
Custodial/Night Watchman -
Duties to include nightly cleaning of facilities and light projects. Late check-ins of guests to our Inn and monitoring of surveillance systems for all facilities and docks.
Dock Supervisor -
Ensure that all captains and mechanics are logging fuel dip charts, daily maintenance checklists, boat logs in a timely manner. Ensure all river staff is in proper uniform at all times. Overseeing of all river staff pre and post trip duties. To include all cleaning and maintenance of vessels and grounds, cleaning and hanging of passenger gear, ensure that all staff completes timely and professional safety orientations prior to each trip departure. Ensure upkeep and inventory of all river equipment including boat microphones, bilge pumps, ropes on deck and vessels, and passenger gear. Ensure general tidiness and cleaning of change rooms, grounds, parking lot, buildings, power-wash decking and garbage removal.
Bus/Shuttle Driver
Drive diesel-powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport whirlpool guests and staff between docks and other multiple locations while giving narration of Niagara River using microphone equipment. Pick up and drop off passenger at regularly scheduled locations, following strict time schedules. Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Safely load and unload passengers onto bus; physical assistance is required. Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Class C driver's license and Air Endorsement required.
Parking Lot Attendant
Responsibilities include directing traffic and greeting guests both individuals and groups and guiding them through proper registration procedures.
Accounts Receivable Clerk
Duties include invoicing clients for jet boat trips, organize and monitor outstanding balances, track courtesy coupons and calculate monthly totals, assist in daily cash reconciliations, occasional mail runs and assisting Accounting Assistant and Business Manager with other duties as required.
